David MacKnight

Associate Dean for Advancement

David H. MacKnight joined Chase College of Law as Associate Dean for Advancement in December 2004. MacKnight earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Kentucky University and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law. He formerly served as Chief of Staff for then United States Congressman Ben Chandler. Prior to that, MacKnight served as Deputy Attorney General and Chief of Staff in the Kentucky Attorney General's Office and General Counsel in the Kentucky State Auditor's Office. He also previously served as Director of the Kentucky Unified Prosecutorial System. Before entering law school, he was an administrative assistant for then Kentucky State Senator Jim Bunning. During law school, MacKnight was a law clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office in Lexington, Kentucky, and upon graduation, he practiced with the law firm of Adams, Brooking, Stepner, Woltermann, and Dusing in Covington, Kentucky.

MacKnight’s community involvement has included service as a member of the Chase American Inn of Court Board of Directors, President of the NKU Alumni Association Board of Directors, and as an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He has been a recipient of the NKU Regents Distinguished Service Award, Kentucky Commonwealth’s Attorneys Association President’s Award, Kentucky County Attorneys Association Outstanding Service Award, and NKU Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award.
