David H. MacKnight joined Chase College of Law as Associate Dean for Advancement in December 2004. MacKnight earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Kentucky University and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law. He formerly served as Chief of Staff for then United States Congressman Ben Chandler. Prior to that, MacKnight served as Deputy Attorney General and Chief of Staff of the Kentucky Attorney General's Office and General Counsel of the Kentucky State Auditor's Office. He also previously served as Director of the Kentucky Unified Prosecutorial System. Before entering law school, he was an administrative assistant for then State Senator and later United States Senator Jim Bunning. During law school, MacKnight was a law clerk for the United States Attorney’s Office in Lexington, Kentucky, and upon graduation, he practiced with the law firm of Adams, Brooking, Stepner, Woltermann, and Dusing in Covington, Kentucky.
