Credit Hours: 3
Description: This course examines the laws and policies that address the legal status and management of public lands and natural resources.  It surveys the programs and statutes that govern the use and protection of natural resources, including timber, rangeland, minerals, national parks, wildernesses, and renewable energy resources available on public lands.  The course will also consider the competing values underlying natural resource law, from economically productive use to outdoor recreation to preservation of the natural world for its own sake.
