Public Services

The Chase College of Law Library welcomes visitors and members of the community. Although the primary focus of the Law Library is to provide services needed by the law faculty and law students, the library offers many services which are available to all who enter. Our goal is to provide high quality library service. We are here to help.

24/7 Access

Chase law faculty and Chase law students have 24/7 access to the Law Library. Faculty, staff, and students must use their NKU All Card to enter the law library after hours.

Circulation

The Circulation Desk is staffed all hours the library is open to the general public. Although much of the library’s collection is non-circulating, many single volume treatises can be checked out. All check-out and check-in takes place at the Circulation Desk. To check out any item users must present a current NKU I.D. or a Chase library card. Chase library cards are free to the public. Application forms are available at the Circulation Desk.

Group Study Rooms

Several rooms are available to all NKU Chase law students for group study. Reservations can be made up to 2 weeks in advance at Chase Study Rooms

Interlibrary Loan

If the library does not own a particular title, the library will try to borrow the title from another library. To request an interlibrary loan, fill out the online form or call 859-572-6485.

Photocopiers/Printers

One self-service photocopier/printer is located on the second floor of the library. For everyone with an NKU e-mail account, this photocopier has the ability to scan a document in black & white and send it to an email address without cost to the user. Chase students may email print jobs to Norse Print and release print jobs to this printer using these directions. Chase students may also swipe their NKU All Card to pay for photocopies. Public users can copy material using this photocopier printer using the copy card located at the circulation desk. Each page is 5 cents, payable in cash at the circulation desk. Law students can print from their laptops to a printer on the second floor or to a printer on the third floor in the Eble Student Commons.

Wireless Network / Public Access Computers

The Law Library and the campus is a fully wireless environment. Students with wireless enabled laptops can access all of the online resources the library provides from anywhere within the law school. Computers for the general public provide Internet access, as well as fee-based printing capability.
