Jennifer Zaccheus-Miller will receive the Salmon P. Chase Award, as the graduating student whose activities best represent the spirit of advocacy Salmon P. Chase displayed as a lawyer before his political and judicial careers.
Like Chase, who advocated for the powerless, Ms. Miller has been a tireless advocate for the interests and needs of others. She has:
In addition to her work for others, she has been active in student organizations at Chase and in bar association activities in Kentucky and Ohio. She has done all of it while studying and working as a paralegal.
Among the recommendations that she receive the award were:

“I have never had a student that better exemplifies a commitment to social justice. She is the best student I have ever had.”
Ms. Zaccheus-Miller will receive the award at the Chase commencement ceremony, May 5, on the Northern Kentucky University campus.
