Bob Furnier is New Lunsford Academy Director at Chase

Bob Furnier is the new director of the W. Bruce Lunsford Academy for Law, Business + Technology at Chase College of Law. His career path to the position includes every aspect of the academy that prepares students for multidiscipline approaches to problem-solving.

As a lawyer, he has practiced primarily in the area of complex litigation. In business, he has created a legal services startup, been involved in law firm management, and litigated cases in such areas as banking, insurance, and anti-trust. In technology, he has been vice-chair of the American Bar Association Techshow board and a member of the ABA e-Lawyering Task Force.

At the academy, students in a course he taught prior to being named director created an app to aid lawyers and former offenders in proceedings to expunge criminal records.

The Lunsford Academy was created in 2014 through a gift from Chase alumnus W. Bruce Lunsford, owner of Lunsford Capital Investment in Louisville and a former Kentucky secretary of commerce.
