Professor Underwood serves as the Assistant Director for User Services. She is also responsible for Chase’s Pro Bono Service Program and the Street Law Program.
She is Assistant Professor of Law Library Services and works at the reference desk. She came to Chase from the law library at Capital University Law School where she worked as a reference librarian. While at Capital Jane lectured on legal resources in tax research, general practice, white collar crime, and crimmigration classes. She was previously a reference librarian for the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library specializing in grantsmanship and community information.
Jane is a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the American Bar Association (ABA), the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL), and the Ohio Regional Association of Law Libraries (ORALL). She has presented programs on Kentucky Legal Research for the Legal Research Bootcamp, Ohio Statutory and Administrative Research for the Summer Associates training seminar of the Columbus Bar Association and demonstrated legal resources to the faculty at the College of Business Administration of Ohio University.
She received a Bachelor of Arts in History summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Ohio University, her Masters of Library Science from Kent State University, and her Juris Doctor from the University of Akron. She is a member of the Ohio bar.
