Professor Jack Harrison was elected chair-elect of the American Association of Law Schools Section on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Issues at the AALS annual meeting in early January in New Orleans. He will become chair in January 2020.
• Also at the meeting: Professor Harrison discussed developments in the law related to discrimination in employment on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity on a panel entitled “LGBTQ Rights Halfway Through Trump’s (First?) Term: Advancement, Retrenchment, Potential.” He based his presentation on his forthcoming law review article, “Because of Sex,” in the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review.
• More recognition: Professor Harrison was selected by his attorney peers for inclusion in the 2019 edition of Best Lawyers in America, in the areas of Mass Tort Litigation–Defendants and Product Liability Litigation–Defendants.
