Professor John Bickers is the Class of 2020 Chase Professor of the Year. Graduating students selected him for the honor that also means he will carry the traditional academic mace to lead the graduation procession of faculty and students into the December commencement ceremony.
Professor Bickers has been a faculty member since 2006, and has taught Constitutional Law and Professional Responsibility. He previously served more than two decades in the Army, with most of his career as a judge advocate. He also taught law at the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York.
The class also selected Professors Krista Burton and Michael Mannheimer as grand marshals for the commencement ceremony to hood graduates as their names are read.
