Chase Involves Alumni in Scholarship Selections

Chase College of Law has launched a new scholarship program that links alumni and students before they even begin classes.

The Dean’s Merit Scholarship involves alumni throughout the nation who interview prospective students and provide their recommendations to the Chase admissions office as a factor in awarding the scholarships.

The scholarship is a merit-based, renewable stipend available to certain accepted applicants in addition to any other award. “Eligible admittees who apply for a Dean’s Merit Scholarship will be matched with a Chase alum in their area who then interviews the candidate and provides feedback to our Office of Admissions,” says Judith Daar, the Ambassador Patricia L. Herbold Dean of Chase College of Law. “In collaboration, our alumni interviewers and admissions professionals will determine the allocation of these prestigious awards. We are confident that once an admitted student meets with one of our talented alums, the only choice for that budding attorney will be Chase.”

The scholarship program is designed to roll out for the upcoming 2020-21 academic year.
