Black Law Student Association
Members of the Black Law Students Association know more about real estate than how to record a deed. They also know how to erect three-stories of scaffolding and restore brickwork. They did all that recently on a Habitat for Humanity project in Newport, Ky. Astarre Gudino, BLSA community service chair, organized the effort: “I hope to develop a relationship with Habitat for Humanity throughout the Midwest. It’s a wonderful organization that allows you to not only see your contribution, but literally touch your contribution,” she says.
