Q: What is Digital Measures student activity insight?

Digital Measures (DM) Student Activity Insight is an online student activity reporting system. This system will allow Chase students to report on their employment, view pro bono activities, and indicate career interests and activities. Each student will enter employment and career-related data into DM, and that data will be accessible only to the student, the Career Development staff, the Pro Bono Program staff, and the Chase Registrar.

Q: Who is required to report data in Digital Measures?

All students will be required to enter and update data in their DM account. Accounts have been created for students who are required to use the DM system.

Q: What sections of Digital Measures are required to be completed and updated?

The 'Contact Information' section within DM is required for all students with accounts in the DM system. That section of DM has been pre-populated, so students are only required to review that section and ensure that the data reported there is correct and remains up- to-date.

The 'Pro Bono Services Activities' section will be completed by the Pro Bono Program assistant after the student has returned all required pro bono activity forms to the Pro Bono office.

The 'Employment During Law School' section must be completed by students each semester and summer. This data is collected to comply with ABA standards and requirements. This data will also be used by the Career Development Office to provide helpful aggregate data to current students about market trends and provide incoming students with information to help them consider and plan for employment during law school. Entry of this data will generally take less than five minutes of students’ time, and must be entered during the last month of each semester. Failure to enter that data will result in students being unable to register for courses, the withholding of grades, rankings and transcripts until the data is provided.

Fall 2011 Dates:

    • Deadline to enter data into DM: November 15, 2011

Spring 2012 Dates:

    • Deadline to enter data into DM: April 8, 2012

Q: What sections of Digital Measures are optional and why record data there?

The remaining sections of DM are optional and for your use in helping you track your various activities and interests. You are encouraged to make the most of this valuable student tool. It will help you keep track of activities, recognition, legal contacts, class awards, publications, student groups, and leadership positions- all of which are vitally important in your job search.

Voluntary information that is recorded is also very helpful for the Career Development Office. That office will utilize responses to determine student career interests, and to develop student events and programs as well as necessary student resources. Additionally, that office is better able to share opportunities with students when they have information about students’ education, training, career interests and geographic preferences.
