Reference Services

The Reference Department supports the research, scholarship and learning missions of the Chase College of Law. The department assists the Northern Kentucky University, the legal community and the public. Reference Librarians can assist you with your research and information needs. Reference librarians are seated at the Reference Desk across from the Circulation Desk and to the left of the Library entrance. The Reference Department offers the following services:

• Phone Reference and the phone number is 859.572.6484.
• Library Tours for classes and interested groups. Tours should be arranged with a Reference Librarian, at least one week in advance.
• Research Links listing numerous federal, state and local web sources.

Reference assistance may also be scheduled at other times by appointment. The Reference By Appointment service allows for an in-depth interview with the user and more individualized instruction.

Reference Service Policy

The Reference Librarian's primary role is instructional. He/she can provide directional assistance and offer one-on-one assistance in using legal research tools. It is the policy of this library that faculty and staff will not do anything which might be interpreted as the unauthorized practice of law.
