Law Review Symposia

The Northern Kentucky Law Review was founded in 1973. It is an independent journal, edited and published entirely by the students of the Salmon P. Chase College of Law. Students serve on the Law Review staff as writers, editors, proofreaders, technical editors, researchers, and subciters. A position on the editorial board, a coveted recognition of academic achievement, is one of the highest honors a law student can attain. Staff members are selected from those candidates who have demonstrated meticulous attention to detail, academic excellence, and superior legal writing ability.

Our four annual issues are composed of scholarly writings by professors, practitioners, jurists, and students in important areas of law. The Northern Kentucky Law Review publishes a General Law issue, a Kentucky Survey issue, as well as two symposia issues that complement our annual live or written symposia. Our circulation extends to most law libraries across the country, and our articles are widely available on LexisNexis and Westlaw. The Kentucky Survey issue summarizes recent Kentucky cases in a specific area of law, which provides a guide to practitioners as to how specific legal questions would be addressed by Kentucky courts. This issue is unique to the Northern Kentucky Law Review, as it is the only issue of its kind in Kentucky.
