Judge Karen Thomas
Professor Thomas has been a Kentucky District Court Judge for the Second Division of the Seventeenth Judicial District since 1996. She presently serves as Chief Regional District Judge for the Northern Region of Kentucky. Since 1997 she has served as the Northern Kentucky Teen Court Judge, and in 2004 she was appointed to serve as Special Circuit Judge in Campbell County for the purpose of presiding over the felony Drug Court Program. In 2006 Judge Thomas was appointed to the National Task Force For Youth Courts as a member of the National Advisor Board. Professor Thomas received a Juris Doctor degree from NKU Chase in 1985 and her Bachelor of Arts degree from NKU in 1982. Professor Thomas teaches Pretrial Litigation and Trial Advocacy. She also serves an adjunct professor in the College of Business at NKU, where she teaches business law courses.
