Professor Putt comes to Chase with a notable mixture of tenured faculty experience and a long and successful private practice. He obtained his bachelor's degree in political science at Mississippi State University and later obtained his J.D. and LL.M. degrees from the University of Mississippi.

Professor Putt has served as an associate professor of law at both Mississippi State University and Cumberland School of Law, and also as a faculty member of the Alabama Bar Institute for Continuing Legal Education at the University of Alabama.
