Professor Garon to Speak on Legal Ethics
Professor Jon Garon, director of the NKU Chase Law + Informatics Institute, will speak at the 2013 Carhart Program on Legal Ethics presented by Ohio Northern University's Pettit College of Law on Monday, October 7, 2013 in Ada, Ohio. The program will feature Madhavi Sunder's "From Goods to a Good Life: Intellectual Property Law Beyond Efficiency" and Jon Garon's "To Promote the Progress: Incentives, Exclusives, and Values to Build a More Perfect Creative Culture."
Garon will analyze the judicial history of assumptions about incentives and contrast those with the economic and sociological analysis of copyright. Using modern incentive theory, Garon will recommend selective copyright reform in an effort to promote creative production and benefit the public.
The Fred L. Carhart Memorial Program brings eminent scholars, jurists, and lawyers to Ohio Northern to actively engage in lectures, seminars, and panel discussions for the benefit of students, the college and university communities, the public, and the bench and bar.
