Small Business & Nonprofit Law Clinic
This clinic enhances our students' professional development through experiential learning in the transactional areas of business and nonprofit law including intellectual property law. It also provides needed assistance to underserved Kentucky and Ohio small businesses and nonprofit organizations.
The Small Business & Nonprofit Law Clinic is the first clinic of its kind in Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati, and it provides affordable legal services to entrepreneurs, small businesses, and nonprofit entities in the local community.
- Chase law students staff the clinic under the supervision of a full-time clinic director and licensed attorney
- Students interact directly with clients to provide legal advice on business-law issues including entity formation, intellectual property, and contracts, and to otherwise provide legal services
- The clinic operates under the auspices of the Transactional Law Practice Center, and in partnership with NKU's Small Business Development Center
- The clinic furthers the law school's outreach to the community, particularly in the areas of community and business development
This is an excellent opportunity for our students to give back to the community by helping those who cannot afford legal representation. Not only will nonprofit organizations benefit from the quality legal services provided by our students through the clinic, but the constituents that the nonprofits serve will benefit in the long run as well.
