Types of Jobs Obtained by Employment Group

Employment information was provided by 144 of the 149 total graduates in the Class of 2010. Two graduates were not seeking employment, leaving an 'Employment Group' of 142 graduates. Of the Employment Group, 131 graduates (92%) were employed and 11 graduates (8%) were seeking employment 9 months after graduation.

  • Bar Admission required jobs are traditionally practicing attorney positions
  • JD Preferred jobs are generally 'alternative legal careers' where a legal education is necessary but a license to practice law is not necessary. These positions can be in the corporate, academic or government sectors and include compliance officers.
  • Professional positions are generally those where a law degree is not required but can in some way enhance or advance a person's career path in another profession, such as a police officer or a corporate or non-profit executive or consultant.

63 of 131 graduates reported salary information. Of those employed in law firms, 31 out of 71 graduates reported salary information.
