NKU Chase College of Law
Alumni-Student First-Year Mentor Program

The objective of the Alumni-Student First-Year Mentor Program is to introduce first-year law students to the legal profession and to the importance of professionalism through interaction with practicing lawyers. Through this program, each first-year student will have a minimum of one meeting with a Chase alumnus during the fall semester. For many students, this meeting will be their first law school-related conversation with a lawyer. Topics that alumni and students may choose to discuss may include the lawyer's chosen area of practice, career path, and career goals; work and life balance issues faced by lawyers; client development and relations; the practice of law as a business and a profession; and ethical issues and professional responsibility, including courtesy and civility in the profession. Participation in the "Alumni-Student First-Year Mentor Program" program is required for all first-year students. The Chase Alumni Association and the Chase Alumni Office will identify and recruit Chase alumni mentors.
