Applicant Timeline
The following timeline will assist you in mapping out the application process for the Fall 2012 entering class. The following dates are offered as suggestions; you may begin the process at any time. Please consult the Application Checklist for more information.
January 2011 - December 2011
- If you have not taken the LSAT, gather information about the dates, deadlines, and study options for the LSAT.
- Select the best date for you to take the LSAT and prepare your study schedule.
- Allow yourself three to six months for LSAT preparation.
- Become familiar with the Credential Assembly Service (CAS).
- Visit www.lsac.org.
June 2011
- Ideal time to take the LSAT if your schedule allows.
- Register for the CAS.
- Start thinking about who you will ask to write your letters of recommendation.
July 2011
- Request to be on our mailing list.
- Work on your personal statement.
- If you have not taken the LSAT, you will need to plan to take the test in October, December, or February.
September 15, 2011
- NKU Chase’s electronic application is available through the LSAC, but you will not be able to submit the application until October 1.
September 2011 - October 2011
- Visit an NKU Chase representative at a location near you. For our travel schedule, visit our Off-Campus Visits page.
- Second best time to take the LSAT if your schedule allows.
- Register for the CAS if you have not done so.
- Make plans to visit NKU Chase. We host several on-campus events for you to learn more about us. To register for an event, visit our On-Campus Visits page.
October 1, 2011
- NKU Chase will begin accepting electronic applications for review for the 2012 Entering Class.
November 2011
- Admissions Committee will begin reviewing completed applications. Decisions are made on a rolling admission schedule with a majority of the offers made between January and May.
- If you have not done so, work on your personal statement, submit your transcripts to the CAS, and meet with the people you have asked to write a letter of recommendation.
December 2011 - January 2012
- Third best time to take the LSAT to be considered early in the admissions review.
- Register for the CAS if you have not done so.
- Plan to submit your application by February 1, 2012 if you wish to be considered for a scholarship.
February 1, 2012
- NKU Chase scholarship priority deadline.
February 2012
- Last best time to take the LSAT to be considered for Fall 2012 admission.
- Register for the CAS if you have not done so.
- Start researching financial aid options and submit the FAFSA.
March 2012
- Make plans to visit NKU Chase. We host several on-campus events for you to learn more about us. To register for an event, visit our On-Campus Visits page.
April 1, 2012
- NKU Chase application priority deadline.
April 15, 2012
- Acceptance deposit due for admitted students.
May 2012 - July 2012
- Applications will still be accepted after May 1, 2012, but you will want to contact the Office of Admissions at chaseadmissions@nku.edu to discuss the timing.
June 15, 2012
- Registration deposit deadline for admitted students.
July 1, 2012
- Official transcripts from all undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools are due in the Office of Admissions.
