RESIDENCY
Residency is determined according to the regulations set by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education. Kentucky Administrative Regulation, 13 KAR 2:045 establishes the procedure and guidelines for determining the residency status of a student who is seeking admission to, and who is enrolled at, a state-supported postsecondary education institution.
Determination of Residency Status at the Time of Admission
The initial determination of residency status is made during the admission process and is based on information available in the application materials. If you believe that your residency status was incorrectly determined during the admission process, please contact the Director of Admissions at graya4@nku.edu or by calling 859.572.5841 prior to the first day of classes. The Director will advise you of the process to have your residency status reviewed.
METRO RESIDENCY
Students whose permanent residences are in select Ohio and Indiana counties will receive the Metro Tuition Rate. This tuition rate is less than the non-resident rate. The initial determination of residency status is made during the admission process and is based on information available in the application materials.
Move to Metro Area Prior to the Start of Law School
If you have moved to one of the metro counties before the start of law school, you can apply for metro residency. The Director of Admissions will need a copy of your driver’s license and a copy of the deed/lease showing you reside in the metro county. You can contact Ashley Gray at graya4@nku.edu or by calling 859.572.5841.
