How to Apply
The College of Law only enters new students in the fall. The following steps will need to be completed in order to apply for admission to the law school.
Take the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT). The ideal time to take the LSAT is June or October 2007 if you plan to apply for the August 2008 entering class. The test is given in June, October, December and February. You must register to take the LSAT through the LSAC
.
Please note the LSAT can not be older than 5 years from the date of application.
Register for the Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS). You will need to send 2 letters of recommendation and the transcripts from all undergraduate, graduate, or professional schools you have attended to the LSDAS. A complete report will include your LSAT score, writing sample, 2 letters of recommendation and a transcript evaluation.
Complete the Application for Admission. You will need to make sure the application fee, personal statement, resume and additional attachments requested by the application are included.
An application file will be reviewed by the committee when we have the following information:
- Application for Admission and application fee, and
- LSDAS report containing 2 letters of recommendation, all transcripts, and a LSAT score.
Instructions for Applicants with Foreign Credentials
The College of Law requires foreign transcripts to be submitted through the LSAC JD Credential Assembly Service. If you completed any postsecondary work outside the US (including its territories) or Canada, you must use this service for the evaluation of your foreign transcripts. The one exception to this requirement is if you completed the foreign work through a study abroad, consortium, or exchange program sponsored by a US or Canadian institution, and the work is clearly indicated as such on the home campus transcript. This service is included in the LSDAS subscription fee. A Foreign Credential Evaluation will be completed by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), which will be incorporated into your LSDAS report. If it is determined that you need to submit a TOEFL score, you must contact the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and request that your TOEFL score be sent to LSAC. LSAC’s TOEFL code for the JD Credential Assembly Service is 0058. Your score will be included in the Foreign Credential Evaluation document that will be included in your LSDAS law school report.
To use, log in to your online account and follow the instructions Print a Transcript Request Form for each institution and send it promptly to them.
More time is usually required to receive foreign transcripts.
