Elective Courses
Seminars allow students to study a specialized or narrow area of law closely. Seminars such as Immigration Law, Contemporary Issues in Criminal Justice, and Gender and the Law help students learn how important social issues are addressed by the law. Other seminars like Patent Law, Antitrust, and Corporate & White Collar Crime allow the student to study highly specialized areas of law in depth.
Chase offers many elective practical skills courses in which students can refine their professional practice and trial techniques. Courses such as Contract Drafting allow students to apply what they have learned in the first year Contracts course to a set of practical exercises. In-class simulation courses such as Interviewing, Counseling & Negotiating, Trial Advocacy, Domestic Violence Prosecution & Trial, and Advanced Legal Research also give students the chance to develop skills and techniques that are essential for the effective practice of law.
